An article published in Applied Physics Reviews explained the use of microfibers and even nanofibers. These nanofibers, like wearable technology, could be used to keep a record of a patient’s health.
This technology is used to keep a record of patient health history. It includes chronic diseases like diabetes, asthma, obesity, and high blood pressure.
“Consequently, there is a rapid increase in demand for a personalized healthcare system that detects users’ bio-signals at any given place and time,” said author Rituparna Ghosh.”

These Nanofiber Wearable Technology fibres revolutionized medical history. These are highly sensitive and flexible. This wearable nanotechnology is used to check blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol level, oxygen level, sleep quality, and other critical health-related signs.

They are sensitized and can be applied directly to the skin. They can also be used in garments like shirts, wristbands, and neckwear.
“You may have some watches. You would get tattoos. In almost any form, it can be used,” said Ghosh. “you could have something like a face mask. It could have been a handkerchief you put on your wrist, and it begins to give information.

Author Seeram Ramakrishna of the National University of Singapore said that one of the most promising nanofiber technologies—mechanical-energy piezoelectric sensors—could be ready to go on the market in less than three years.

Other technologies, he said, maybe ready for public use in anywhere from five to eight years. This could change the entire medical history. But this is not the end. The author Ramakrishna focuses on more research on these nanofibers to bring further evolution in this technology.

He said further research needs to be done on this technology to make it everlasting. It could take time, but it is a very reliable technology.

“The medical community is always skeptical, while the wellness industry already is using these concepts,” he said. “We need a lot more cause-and-effect studies. We need to amass information so doctors will really accept that this is information they can rely on.”

The estimated value of this technology was more than $32 million in 2019. This value could emerge to as high as $74 million in 2025 as new applications continue to introduce.
